The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 75713-Y 3m Cat6a S/FTP Yellow is a 3-metre Category 6a Ethernet patch cable designed for high-speed data networks. It features S/FTP (shielded/foiled twisted pair) construction and RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts to support reliable signal transmission and reduced interference. The cable's yellow jacket provides easy visual identification in crowded racks and cable runs, while its construction is intended for frequent handling and long-term use in professional and home environments.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding reduces crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference, helping maintain consistent throughput at higher frequencies typical for Cat6a. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts promote reliable connectivity and corrosion resistance. The 3 m length balances flexibility and reach for desktop, wall outlet, or short patch-panel connections. The yellow outer jacket improves cable management by making the cable easy to trace among other lines.

Suitable for

• High-speed Ethernet connections up to 10 Gigabit in short to medium runs
• Server cabinets, patch panels and structured cabling systems
• Office workstations, networked printers and VoIP phones
• Home networks requiring higher shielding and performance

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6a (augmented Category 6)
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid with individually foil-shielded pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 on both ends with gold-plated contacts
• Length: 3 m
• Jacket color: Yellow
• Typical applications: 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T, 10GBASE-T (short runs)

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 connector to the Ethernet port of your device such as a router, switch, computer or networked peripheral, and the other end to the corresponding port on the network equipment. Ensure connectors are fully seated until you hear a click to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and place it away from sources of strong electromagnetic noise when possible. For installations in cabinets or trays, allow gentle bends with a radius larger than the cable diameter to maintain shielding effectiveness.

Recommendations

Use this Cat6a S/FTP cable for short to medium-length links where reduced interference and higher bandwidth are required. For permanent in-wall installations, verify local regulations and consider using cables rated specifically for in-wall or plenum use. Regularly inspect connectors and the jacket for damage and replace the cable if the shielding or contacts appear compromised.
