The Dexlan 858360 0.5m Cat6a S/FTP networking cable is a short patch cable designed for high-speed data connections in modern Ethernet networks. With Cat6a performance and S/FTP shielding, the cable supports reliable 10 Gbps transmission over short distances and reduces electromagnetic interference. RJ-45 connectors on both ends ensure compatibility with network switches, routers, patch panels and Ethernet-enabled devices. The white jacket provides a neutral appearance for residential and office installations.

Advantages

The S/FTP construction combines an overall foil shield with individually braided shields around each twisted pair, enhancing protection against crosstalk and external noise. Cat6a specification allows stable 10 Gbps operation for short runs and improved headroom for high-bandwidth applications. The 0.5 m length minimizes excess cabling in dense rack or desktop setups while providing a direct, low-latency link between devices. Standard RJ-45 terminations enable plug-and-play connectivity without additional tools or adapters.

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the network port of your source device and the other into the destination port on the switch, router or patch panel. Ensure connectors are fully seated until the latch clicks to establish a secure physical connection. For optimal performance, avoid sharp bends or kinks in the cable and maintain separation from large power cables where possible. The short 0.5 m length is intended for close-proximity connections within racks, between adjacent ports, or for tidy desktop routing.

Recommendations

For stable 10 Gbps performance, use the cable for short patch runs as intended; longer runs require cables rated for the necessary distance. Inspect RJ-45 connectors before installation for any debris and avoid repeated forceful insertion to prevent connector wear.
