The Dexlan 858743 0.5m Cat6a S/FTP networking cable with RJ-45 connectors is a short patch cable designed for reliable high-speed wired connections. Constructed to Cat6a specifications with S/FTP shielding, the cable reduces external electromagnetic interference and crosstalk between pairs, ensuring stable data transfer rates for network devices in confined setups where a half-meter length is required.

Advantages

This Cat6a S/FTP cable provides enhanced protection against electromagnetic interference thanks to an overall shield combined with individually foil-shielded pairs, improving signal integrity in environments with multiple cables and electronic equipment. The short 0.5m length minimizes excess cabling and signal attenuation for direct device-to-switch or device-to-patch-panel connections. Fitted with standard RJ-45 connectors and a white jacket, the cable offers compatibility with common networking hardware while maintaining a discreet appearance in office or rack-mounted installations.

How to use

Plug each RJ-45 connector firmly into the corresponding Ethernet ports on devices such as computers, switches or routers until the latch clicks into place. Use the 0.5m length for direct, short-distance connections to reduce cable clutter and maintain signal quality. Avoid sharp bends and excessive twisting; maintain gentle bend radii and route the cable where mechanical strain is minimized. If routing near power cables or noisy electrical equipment, use available cable management routing to keep some separation despite the cable's shielding.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, verify that network equipment supports Cat6a transmission rates and ensure connectors are fully seated. When deploying multiple cables in racks or conduits, maintain organized labeling and avoid compressing the cable shielding to preserve electromagnetic protection.
