The Dexlan 858742 0.3m Cat6a S/FTP RJ-45 networking cable is a short patch cable designed for high-speed data connections in compact setups. Built to Cat6a standard with S/FTP shielding and RJ-45 connectors on both ends, it supports Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet links over short distances while reducing electromagnetic interference. The 0.3 metre length makes it suitable for direct device-to-device connections, patch panels to switches, or linking equipment in dense rack or desktop environments where a minimal cable footprint is required.

Advantages

This Cat6a S/FTP cable provides improved shielding compared with unshielded alternatives, helping to minimise crosstalk and external interference in environments with multiple cables or electronic equipment. The RJ-45 terminations allow compatibility with standard Ethernet ports without adapters. The short 0.3 m length reduces excess cable clutter and can improve airflow in racks or workstations while maintaining high data throughput consistent with Cat6a performance.

How to use

Plug each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding Ethernet ports of the devices to be connected, ensuring a secure click to confirm proper seating. Use the cable for short interconnections such as switch-to-switch or device-to-switch links; avoid overstretching beyond the specified length. For shielded cables, ensure devices or patch panels provide a compatible grounding or shield termination to gain the full benefit of S/FTP construction.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this 0.3 m Cat6a cable in short link scenarios and maintain proper cable management to avoid sharp bends or kinks. When installing in environments with significant electromagnetic noise, verify that connected equipment or racks provide appropriate grounding for shielded cables to reduce interference and preserve signal integrity.
