The Dexlan 858715 0.5m Cat6a S/FTP networking cable is designed for short-range high-speed data connections. Featuring Cat6a performance and S/FTP shielding, the cable supports reliable transmission in environments with potential electromagnetic interference. The cable is terminated with RJ-45 connectors on both ends and is finished in green, making it easy to identify within patch panels, racks, or desk setups.

Advantages

Cat6a specification enables higher bandwidth and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over short distances. The S/FTP construction combines an overall braided shield with individually foil-shielded pairs to reduce crosstalk and external interference, improving signal integrity. The 0.5m length is practical for connecting adjacent equipment or for tidy patching in dense installations. RJ-45 termination ensures compatibility with standard network ports and devices.

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to the network port of your switch, router, patch panel or device and the other end to the corresponding port on the adjacent device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension that might compromise shielding or conductor integrity. For best results, use this 0.5m cable for short links within racks, cabinets, or desktop setups where minimal slack is required.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage power lines and maintain proper bend radius (do not sharply fold near the connector). Use the green color to establish consistent cabling schemes and label both ends if used in dense patch environments. Replace the cable if the connector latch is damaged or if the jacket or shielding shows visible wear.
