The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 75725-G 15m Cat6a S/FTP is a high-performance Ethernet cable designed for reliable wired network connections. This 15-metre Cat6a cable features S/FTP (shielded/foil twisted pair) construction and RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts to support stable data transmission and reduced electromagnetic interference. The cable's green jacket provides clear visual identification while maintaining flexibility for routing in home or office environments.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding combines an overall braid with individual pair foil, improving protection against crosstalk and external noise and helping preserve signal integrity at higher frequencies. Cat6a specification supports higher bandwidth and reduced attenuation compared with lower-category cables, making it suitable for Gigabit Ethernet and potential 10 Gigabit Ethernet over appropriate distances. Gold-plated contacts on the RJ-45 plugs provide corrosion resistance and consistent contact performance over repeated insertions.

Suitable for

• Wired LAN connections for desktop computers, switches and routers
• Home networks where reduced interference and clear cable identification are required
• Small office networks with mixed network equipment and moderate cable runs
• Audio-visual installations requiring stable Ethernet links for streaming and control

Key specifications

• Cable length: 15 metres
• Category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid + foil on each twisted pair)
• Connector type: RJ-45 plugs
• Contact finish: Gold-plated contacts
• Jacket colour: Green
• Conductor type: Twisted pair copper conductors

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the network device (router, switch or network interface) and the other plug to the target device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to maintain a secure connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and strong mechanical stress; maintain separation from high-voltage power cabling where possible to minimize interference. For wall or rack installations, secure the cable with appropriate clips or cable management accessories, leaving some service loop for future adjustments.

Recommendations

Use the Cat6a S/FTP cable for links up to the recommended distance for Cat6a performance, avoid excessive bending radii, and confirm device compatibility for higher-speed links. When installing alongside electrical wiring, keep a reasonable separation to reduce EMI; for permanent installations consider labelling both ends for easier maintenance.
