Φίλτρο Hama Vario 5,2 cm

The Hama Vario neutral-density filter (5.2 cm) is a variable ND2–400 filter that reduces incoming light to allow greater creative control over exposure. It features a rotating front element for continuous adjustment and a stepped design where the front frame diameter is larger than the rear to minimize vignetting. The filter is black-finished and fits lenses requiring a 55 mm front cap.

Advantages

This variable ND filter covers a wide range of light reduction from approximately 1 to 8 stops, enabling the use of large apertures outdoors and control of motion blur through longer exposures. The rotating front lens allows fine adjustment of density without changing filters, and the superstructure helps reduce the risk of vignetting on wide-angle lenses. Constructed with high-quality materials, it also provides basic protection for the front element of the lens.

Suitable for

• Landscape photography with long exposures (smoothing water, clouds)
• Portraits shot outdoors using wide apertures for shallow depth of field
• Motion effects where blurred movement is desired (water, traffic)
• Situations requiring flexible exposure control without changing lenses

Key specifications

• Type: Variable neutral-density filter (ND2–400)
• Filter size / product reference: 5.2 cm (Hama Vario, MPN 79152)
• Light reduction: approx. +1 to +8 stops
• Design: Rotating front element; stepped front frame to reduce vignetting
• Color / finish: Black
• Compatible front cap diameter: 55 mm
• Brand / EAN: HAMA / 4007249791528

How to use

Screw the filter onto the lens thread securely and use the rotating front element to set the desired light reduction. For long-exposure effects (for example smoothing water), increase the density until the shutter speed is long enough to create motion blur; for shallow depth-of-field portraits in bright light, increase density to allow wider apertures. Check the exposure and histogram while adjusting to avoid under- or overexposure. Use a tripod for exposures longer than a fraction of a second to keep the camera steady.

Recommendations

To avoid vignetting on wide-angle lenses, ensure the lens front cap and filter size are compatible; the filter’s front frame is larger than the rear, so a 55 mm lens cap is required. Clean filter surfaces before use and store the filter in a protective pouch to prevent scratches.
