Φίλτρο Hama Vario 5.8 cm

The Hama Vario neutral-density filter (size 5.8 cm, MPN 00079158) is a variable ND2–400 filter that reduces incoming light to allow greater control over exposure. It features a rotating front element to set the density and a stepped front housing that prevents vignetting on wide-angle lenses while requiring a 62 mm lens cap.

Advantages

This variable ND filter provides continuous exposure reduction equivalent to approximately +1 to +8 stops, enabling use of larger apertures in bright conditions and creative long‑exposure effects. The rotating front element makes adjustment intuitive, and the stepped front construction reduces the risk of vignetting on compatible lenses.

Suitable for

• Landscape photography with long exposures (smoothing water and clouds)
• Portraits outdoors when using wide apertures in bright light
• Creative motion blur and time‑lapse techniques
• General exposure control to prevent overexposure in bright conditions

Key specifications

• Type: Variable neutral-density filter (ND2–400)
• Size: 5.8 cm (filter housing requires 62 mm lens cap)
• Exposure reduction: approximately +1 to +8 stops
• Mount/operation: rotating front element for density adjustment
• Brand/Model: HAMA, MPN 00079158, EAN 4007249791580

How to use

Attach the filter to a lens with the appropriate thread or use the filter adapter specified by your lens; ensure the filter is securely mounted. Rotate the front element to select the desired density between ND2 and ND400; check the exposure reading or use manual exposure settings on your camera. For long‑exposure photography, use a tripod and remote release or self‑timer to avoid camera shake. Replace the 62 mm lens cap when the filter is not in use.

Recommendations

To minimize vignetting and ensure correct lens protection, use lenses that match the filter's stepped front housing and always use the required 62 mm lens cap. When adjusting density, monitor exposure and white balance, and avoid stacking multiple thick filters to reduce the risk of image darkening or optical artifacts.
