Μετατροπέας μέσων δικτύου Veracity VHW-HWPS-B

The Veracity VHW-HWPS-B (HIGHWIRE POWERSTAR) is a network media converter that lets you deliver 100 Mbit/s Ethernet and up to 25 W of Power over Ethernet (PoE) over existing coaxial cable. It enables fast upgrade of legacy coax installations to support IP cameras without running new cable, providing a BASE unit that injects PoE onto the coax and a CAMERA unit that extracts PoE and delivers full PoE Plus power to the camera.

Advantages

HIGHWIRE's full-rate Ethernet over Coax technology delivers predictable 100Base-T performance up to the specified range while maintaining compatibility with existing coax installations. The system supports up to 25 W of PoE over coax to remove the need for local camera power supplies, and its ultra low-power design plus efficient power delivery allow even lower-grade RG-59 coax to support typical IP camera loads. Installer-oriented SafeView status indicators show network and power conditions across the cable without needing remote access, and the product includes safe detection of PoE devices to prevent damage to non-PoE or legacy analog equipment.

Suitable for

• Upgrading legacy coaxial CCTV cabling to support IP cameras
• Delivering Ethernet and PoE to remote cameras where new cable runs are not feasible
• Integrations in installations requiring up to 25 W PoE per camera
• Sites that need quick verification of link and power status during installation

Key specifications

• Model: Veracity VHW-HWPS-B (HIGHWIRE POWERSTAR)
• Data rate: 100 Mbit/s (100Base-T)
• PoE over coax power: up to 25 W to camera (supports IEEE 802.3af/at compatibility)
• Maximum transfer distance: up to 500 m over coax (dependent on cable quality)
• Input voltage range: 40–57 V
• Typical power consumption: 1.5 W
• Ports: 1 × Ethernet RJ-45
• Product colour: Blue
• Certifications: FCC, CE, RoHS

How to use

Install a HIGHWIRE POWERSTAR BASE unit at the network/PoE source and connect its Ethernet RJ-45 port to your switch or PoE injector. Run the existing coaxial cable between the BASE and the CAMERA unit. Plug the CAMERA unit into the IP camera using the RJ-45 output; the CAMERA unit will deliver PoE to the camera. If PoE is not present on the network side or additional power is required, connect an optional local power supply to the BASE or CAMERA unit as shown in the product documentation. No special configuration or measurement is required; the devices operate plug-and-play.

Recommendations

Use HIGHWIRE POWERSTAR with known good coax where possible and verify available power and link status using the SafeView indicators during installation. For critical installations, consider a UPS-backed PoE source or connecting the optional local power supply to ensure continuous power delivery to cameras.
