Κεραία Kathrein KAZ 12 ασημί

The Kathrein KAZ 12 Silver protects system components in SAT, CATV and DVB-T reception and distribution systems by providing coarse overvoltage protection. It is intended for installation as close as possible to the house connection and increases the surge discharge capability when used together with the KAZ 11. The device includes a gas discharge tube and allows passage of 22 kHz and DiSEqC signals. Accessories supplied are an EMU 21 earth connection block and two EMK 01 F connectors. Designed for indoor mounting and compliant with EN 61643-21 categories A2/C2/C3/B2/D1, it is suitable for installation according to the lightning arrester zone concept (LPZ 0A-1 and higher).

Advantages

The KAZ 12 provides reliable coarse protection for coaxial antenna networks using a proven gas discharge element, supports DiSEqC and 22 kHz signalling, and is certified to EN 61643-21 categories A2/C2/C3/B2/D1. It increases the surge discharge capability of the KAZ 11 when combined and is supplied with earth connection and connector accessories for straightforward indoor installation close to the building entry point.

Suitable for

• Protection of SAT reception systems
• Protection of CATV distribution networks
• DVB-T antenna and distribution installations
• Use at building entry points (coarse protection)

How to use

Install the KAZ 12 as close as possible to the house connection in the antenna feed line to provide coarse protection against surges. Fit the supplied EMU 21 earth connection block and connect the unit to the system ground. Use the supplied EMK 01 F connectors to connect coaxial cables and ensure correct polarity and shielding continuity. When used together with a KAZ 11, install both devices according to the lightning arrester zone concept (LPZ) to achieve increased surge discharge capability.

Recommendations

Install the KAZ 12 indoors at the building entry point and ensure a low-impedance earth connection. Place it upstream of sensitive equipment and coordinate with upstream and downstream surge protection devices (for example KAZ 11) according to the LPZ concept.
