DIGITUS DK-1512-025 Cat5e U/UTP patch cable is a 2.5 m grey Ethernet lead with RJ-45 plugs on both ends. It provides standard Cat5e performance for LAN, internet and VoIP connections and is intended for use in offices, homes and network cabinets. The cable uses an unshielded twisted pair (U/UTP) design and comes with molded RJ-45 connectors for a compact, tidy connection between devices.

Advantages

This Cat5e U/UTP cable delivers reliable data transmission suitable for typical 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T network segments where Cat5e is supported. The 2.5 m length offers flexibility for short runs between wall outlets, switches, routers and desktop equipment. Molded RJ-45 connectors reduce strain at the plug ends and help maintain a neat installation. The grey jacket provides a neutral appearance that blends into office and home environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs, switches and routers within a local area network
• Linking VoIP phones to network ports
• Patching between network outlets and patch panels in cabinets
• Temporary connections for testing and troubleshooting network equipment

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat5e
• Cable type: U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair)
• Length: 2.5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45, molded
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the network port of your device and the other into the corresponding port on the switch, router or wall outlet. Ensure connectors click securely into place. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and pinch points; allow some slack at connection points to reduce strain on the cable and connector. For best performance, keep the patch cable away from high-voltage power lines and sources of electromagnetic interference.

Recommendations

Use this Cat5e U/UTP patch cable for short-distance Ethernet runs up to the cable length of 2.5 m. Replace the cable if the jacket is damaged or connectors no longer latch securely. For installations requiring additional protection against interference or in electrically noisy environments, consider shielded cable categories and compatible shielded connectors.
