The ShiverPeaks 07-500115 0.5m LC/LC fibre optic cable is a short, duplex OM5 multimode link with a 50 µm core diameter, designed for high-speed data transmission in network and data centre environments. This half-metre LC to LC patch cable supports full duplex communication and is intended for interconnecting active equipment, patch panels and high-density switch ports where reliable, low-loss multimode connectivity is required.

Advantages

This OM5 LC/LC cable provides consistent multimode performance over short distances, with low insertion loss and stable optical characteristics suited to data-centre and enterprise networking. The duplex LC connectors ensure correct polarity for full duplex links and a compact form factor that fits high-density racks and modules. The 50 µm core diameter enables compatibility with multimode transceivers and passive infrastructure commonly used in modern fiber networks.

Suitable for

• Patch connections between switches, routers and transceivers in data centres
• Interconnects on patch panels and fibre distribution frames
• Short-reach multimode links inside server cabinets and equipment racks
• High-density network environments requiring LC duplex terminations

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC to LC, duplex
• Cable length: 0.5 m
• Polarity: Duplex (suitable for full duplex links)
• Intended use: Short-reach multimode connections

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces and ensure they are clean before insertion. Align the LC duplex connectors with the compatible LC ports on transceivers, switches or patch panels and insert until the latch engages. Verify correct polarity for full duplex operation and test the link with appropriate optical test equipment or network diagnostics to confirm insertion loss and connectivity. Handle the cable carefully to avoid sharp bends and to maintain the specified minimum bend radius for multimode fibres.

Recommendations

To preserve optical performance, clean connectors with approved fibre cleaning tools before connecting, avoid excessive bending or tension, and store unused cables in a dust-free environment. Use this 0.5 m OM5 LC/LC patch cable for short intra-rack and inter-rack connections where multimode transceivers are in use.
