The X-Shield Networking Cable XS-CAT6-UUTP-BLK-3M Black U/UTP 3m is a 3-metre Cat6 patch cable engineered for stable high-speed data transfer in home and office networks. It uses U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair with overall braid or foil) configuration and gold-plated RJ-45 connectors to maintain consistent signal quality and reduce interference. The cable supports Gigabit Ethernet speeds and is suitable for connecting computers, switches, routers, and other network devices where Cat6 performance is required.

Advantages

This Cat6 cable delivers reliable data transmission with low insertion loss and consistent impedance across its length. The U/UTP construction provides overall shielding benefits while maintaining flexibility suitable for tight cable runs and patch panels. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors ensure durable contact and corrosion resistance. The cable's 3 m length offers a practical balance between reach and reduced signal attenuation for typical desktop and rack layouts.

Suitable for

• Gigabit Ethernet connections in home and small office environments
• Connecting desktop computers, network switches, routers, and NAS devices
• Patch panel and rack-to-desk cabling where 3 m length is appropriate
• Applications requiring Cat6 performance and reduced electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6
• Shielding type: U/UTP (overall shield with unshielded twisted pairs)
• Length: 3 metres
• Connector type: RJ-45, gold-plated contacts
• Conductor material: copper (solid or stranded depending on section; designed for networking use)
• Bandwidth support: up to 250 MHz (typical for Cat6)
• Color: black

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the network port of your device and the other into the corresponding port on a switch, router, or modem. Ensure connectors click into place to secure the physical connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference such as heavy-duty motors or fluorescent ballast wiring. For rack installations, use cable management to prevent strain on connectors and maintain organized runs.

Recommendations

Use this cable for short to medium runs up to 3 metres where Cat6 performance and reduced interference are required. For permanent in-wall installations, verify local cabling standards and consider plenum-rated or certified in-wall cables. Avoid repeated tight bending and excessive pulling force when installing to maintain connector and conductor integrity.
