Καλώδιο δικτύου ShiverPeaks Cat 8.1 S/FTP χωρίς αλογόνα, 7,5 m

Shielded network cable ShiverPeaks Cat 8.1 S/FTP Halogen Free, 7.5 m is a high-performance Ethernet patch or short-run backbone cable designed to meet Category 8.1 requirements. The S/FTP construction combines a braided overall shield with foil shielding around each twisted pair, providing robust protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk. The halogen-free jacket reduces toxic gas emission in case of fire and the 7.5 m length fits typical server racks, switch-to-switch links and workstation connections in data centres and commercial networks.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding structure ensures improved signal integrity in environments with multiple electrical devices and adjacent cabling. Category 8.1 performance supports very high data rates over short distances, enabling reliable 25G/40G Ethernet links where applicable. The halogen-free outer jacket meets safety requirements for reduced smoke and corrosive gases, while the flexible construction simplifies routing in crowded racks or conduits. The 7.5 m length offers a practical balance between reach and cable management in server rooms and patch panels.

Suitable for

• Short backbone runs in data centres and server rooms
• Connections between switches, routers and patch panels
• High-speed Ethernet links requiring strong EMI protection
• Environments where halogen-free materials are required for safety

Key specifications

• Cable category: Category 8.1 (Cat 8.1) performance
• Shielding: S/FTP — braided overall shield plus foil around each pair
• Length: 7.5 metres
• Outer jacket: Halogen-free material
• Conductor configuration: Four twisted pairs
• Intended use: Short runs for high-speed Ethernet and data centre links

How to use

Route the cable between network equipment using standard cable management practices to avoid excessive bending and compression. Terminate and connect using compatible Cat 8.1 rated ports or connectors, ensuring proper grounding of shields where the installation requires. For patching in racks, leave service loops as needed and avoid tight bends near connectors; follow equipment vendor guidelines for grounding and cable placement to maintain optimal signal performance.

Recommendations

Use the ShiverPeaks Cat 8.1 S/FTP cable for short high-bandwidth links up to data centre recommended distances for Cat 8.1. Keep the cable away from large power conduits and sources of strong electromagnetic fields when possible. Ensure shield continuity by connecting shields at patch panels or equipment chassis according to your site's grounding policy. For longer runs or different installation types, choose an appropriate cable category and topology.
