The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 08-64091 Blue 20m Cat6 S/FTP is a 20-meter Ethernet cable built to Cat6 specification with S/FTP (shielded/foiled twisted pair) construction. It features RJ-45 connectors with gold plating to improve contact reliability and reduce oxidation. The cable's blue jacket provides visible identification in mixed-cable environments and is suitable for structured networks requiring gigabit-capable links and improved interference protection.

Advantages

This Cat6 S/FTP cable combines higher bandwidth capability with enhanced shielding: the overall braid protects against external electromagnetic interference while individual foil shielding around pairs reduces crosstalk. Gold-plated RJ-45 plugs ensure stable electrical contact and lower contact resistance. The 20 m length offers flexibility for connecting devices across rooms or within racks without using patch panels or additional extensions. The cable's construction supports consistent signal transmission for Ethernet applications up to gigabit speeds.

Suitable for

• Wired Ethernet connections between routers, switches, and PCs in home or office networks
• Connecting networked devices in server rooms and small data closets where interference is a concern
• Structured cabling in workstations, meeting rooms, and media centers requiring a visible color-coded run
• Devices and installations needing reliable Cat6 performance over a 20 m distance

Key specifications

• Cable standard: Category 6 (Cat6)
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid with individually foiled pairs)
• Length: 20 meters
• Connectors: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Jacket color: Blue
• Support: suitable for Gigabit Ethernet and typical Cat6 frequency ranges

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the Ethernet port of the source device (router, switch, or wall outlet) and plug the other connector into the destination device (PC, NAS, media player, or another switch). Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click to guarantee proper contact. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it separated from power cables and heavy EMI sources where possible. For permanent installations, secure the cable along cable trays or using appropriate cable clips without compressing the jacket.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat6 S/FTP cable in environments where electromagnetic interference may affect unshielded runs. Maintain bend radii recommended for Ethernet cables, avoid kinking, and keep the cable dry and away from heat sources. When connecting through patch panels or keystone jacks, use components rated for Cat6 to preserve link performance.
