The METZ CONNECT 142M2XA0010 Green 1m Cat6a networking cable is a shielded Ethernet patch lead with RJ-45 connectors designed to support high-speed data transmission in structured cabling and network interconnects. With Cat6a performance over a one-metre length, this cable provides reliable connectivity for short-distance links between switches, routers, patch panels and network devices. The green jacket helps with port and cable identification in rack and office environments while maintaining the electrical characteristics required for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper.

Advantages

The Cat6a specification ensures enhanced bandwidth and improved alien crosstalk immunity compared with lower categories, enabling stable 10 Gbps operation at distances up to its rated length. RJ-45 connectors provide universal compatibility with standard network equipment, and the compact one-metre length reduces excess cable clutter in dense installations. The coloured sheath simplifies cable management and visual identification without compromising shielding or signal integrity.

Suitable for

• Short patch connections between switches, routers and patch panels
• Server cabinet and rack cable management where a 1 m lead is required
• Workstation or network device connections in office or lab environments
• Infrastructure needing 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper at short distances

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6a, suitable for up to 10 Gbps Ethernet
• Length: 1 metre
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Jacket colour: green for easy identification
• Application: patch cable for structured cabling and network interconnects

How to use

Insert each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding Ethernet port of your network devices, ensuring a firm click to confirm connection. Use the one-metre length for short patching between nearby ports to minimize cable slack. For best performance, avoid sharp bends and excessive twisting of the cable; maintain reasonable separation from sources of strong electromagnetic interference when routing.

Recommendations

When installing multiple coloured patch leads for identification, document the colour scheme and maintain consistent routing to simplify future maintenance. Regularly inspect connectors for damage and replace the cable if deformation or connector wear is observed to preserve 10 Gbps performance.
