Access Point Lancom 61887 Wi‑Fi 6 Dual Radio 1,7 Gbit/s MU‑MIMO

Lancom 61887 is an access point with Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) Dual Radio capability, offering combined throughput up to 1.7 Gbit/s and MU‑MIMO support for efficient handling of multiple simultaneous clients. Designed for business and high‑density environments, it provides reliable wireless connectivity, improved spectral efficiency and better performance in congested networks. The unit is suitable for offices, meeting rooms and public areas where secure and stable wireless access is required.

Advantages

The dual‑radio design enables concurrent operation on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, allowing devices to connect on the optimal frequency for performance and range. Wi‑Fi 6 technologies such as OFDMA and MU‑MIMO improve throughput and reduce latency for many connected clients. The access point supports higher client density and more efficient airtime usage compared with previous Wi‑Fi generations, which helps maintain consistent performance in busy environments. Centralized management compatibility and standard Ethernet power options simplify deployment and maintenance.

Suitable for

• Corporate offices and open plan workspaces
• Conference and meeting rooms
• Public areas in hospitality and retail
• Education facilities and lecture halls
• Any location requiring reliable, high‑density wireless coverage

Key specifications

• Wi‑Fi standard: 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6)
• Radio configuration: Dual Radio (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)
• Maximum combined throughput: up to 1.7 Gbit/s
• Multi‑user technologies: MU‑MIMO and OFDMA for multiple simultaneous clients
• Typical deployment: ceiling or wall mountable form factor for indoor use

How to use

Install the access point in a central indoor location to maximize coverage and minimize obstructions. Connect the device to the network via an Ethernet cable and provide power through a compatible PoE switch or injector. Configure SSIDs, security settings and radio parameters using the network controller or the device management interface according to site requirements. Adjust channel and power settings to reduce interference and balance client distribution between bands.

Recommendations

For best results in high‑density deployments, enable Wi‑Fi 6 features such as OFDMA and MU‑MIMO, use band steering to direct capable clients to 5 GHz, and perform a site survey to determine optimal placement and channel planning. Regularly update firmware and monitor client loads to maintain predictable performance and security.
