Switch Milesight MS-S0204-EL 4-Port 1 Gigabit Ethernet unmanaged Switch

Milesight MS-S0204-EL is a compact 4-port 1 Gigabit Ethernet unmanaged switch designed to expand wired network connectivity quickly and without configuration. The device offers four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports in a small footprint, providing stable, low-latency connections for devices that require reliable Ethernet links. As an unmanaged switch, it is intended for plug-and-play deployment in environments where simple, always-on connectivity is needed.

Advantages

The switch provides four gigabit Ethernet ports with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX to simplify cabling and ensure maximum throughput for connected devices. Its unmanaged design removes the need for configuration or management software, enabling immediate use after installation. The compact housing allows mounting on a desk or within confined spaces, and the stable wired connection reduces interference compared to wireless alternatives.

Suitable for

• Small office networks and home office setups
• CCTV camera systems and NVR connections
• IoT endpoints and sensor aggregations
• Desktop PCs, printers and network peripherals

Key specifications

• Number of ports: 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps)
• Operation type: Unmanaged, plug-and-play
• Port connectors: RJ45 with Auto MDI/MDIX
• Switching capacity: Gigabit line speed switching on all ports
• Form factor: Compact desktop or wall-mountable enclosure
• Power: External power adapter (AC input, DC output) for continuous operation
• Operating environment: Indoor use, suitable for typical office temperatures and humidity ranges

How to use

Install the switch on a flat surface or secure it to a wall using the supplied mounting options if available. Connect the external power adapter to the switch and plug it into a power outlet. Use standard Ethernet cables to connect your router, modem or upstream network device to one port and additional devices to the remaining ports. The switch will automatically detect link speed and duplex settings for each connection; no software setup is required. Verify link and activity LEDs to confirm proper connections and traffic activity.

Recommendations

Place the switch in a ventilated, dry indoor location away from direct heat sources. For CCTV and NVR setups, connect cameras and recording devices using high-quality shielded Ethernet cables if runs are long or in electrically noisy environments. If PoE power is required for devices, select a powered switch or use external PoE injectors — this unmanaged model provides data connectivity only. Regularly check connections and LED indicators to ensure uninterrupted operation.
