Sonnet McFiver εσωτερικό Ethernet 10000 Mbit/s USB Type-C ενσύρματο

The Sonnet McFiver PCIe Card is a multifunction internal expansion card that combines dual M.2 NVMe SSD slots, a 10Gb Ethernet port, and two 10Gbps USB-C ports on a single full-height PCIe card. It installs in a PCIe x8 slot (PCIe 3.0 or 4.0) and is compatible with macOS (including Thunderbolt-equipped Macs), Windows, and Linux systems. The card enables high-capacity internal SSD storage, 10GBASE-T network connectivity over Cat6A cabling, and two high-performance USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports for 10Gbps peripherals.

Advantages

The McFiver consolidates multiple expansion functions into one card, saving PCIe slots while adding storage, networking, and USB-C connectivity simultaneously. Dual M.2 NVMe slots support high-performance SSDs for fast internal storage expansion up to 16 TB. The onboard 10Gb Ethernet port delivers 10GBASE-T connectivity over standard Cat6A cabling, and the dual USB-C ports provide full 10Gbps bandwidth each via a USB 3.2 Gen 2 controller. Broad OS compatibility and the option to use the card in a Thunderbolt-to-PCIe expansion chassis increase installation flexibility.

How to use

Install the McFiver PCIe Card into an available full-height x8 PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 slot in your desktop or in a Thunderbolt-to-PCIe expansion chassis if the host computer only provides Thunderbolt ports. Populate the M.2 slots with compatible NVMe PCIe SSDs (sold separately) and format or configure them as needed for single-disk use or RAID 0 for higher sustained throughput. Connect the RJ45 port to a 10GbE network switch using Cat6A cabling and attach USB-C peripherals to the Type-C ports. Install any necessary drivers or firmware updates for your operating system to ensure full functionality.

Recommendations

For maximum sustained storage performance, use NVMe PCIe SSDs rated for high sequential read/write speeds and configure dual drives as RAID 0 only when redundancy is not required. Use Cat6A cable for reliable 10GbE connections up to 100 meters. If installing in a system with limited internal slots, consider a Thunderbolt expansion chassis to connect the card to Thunderbolt-equipped Macs or PCs.
