The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 08-26085 Black 15 m Cat6a S/FTP is a 15-metre network cable designed for high-speed wired connections. Constructed to meet Cat6a performance requirements, this cable supports reliable data transfer rates and features S/FTP shielding to minimize electromagnetic interference. The cable terminates in RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts to maintain consistent signal integrity and reduce contact corrosion. Its black jacket provides a discreet appearance suitable for residential and commercial installations.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding combines an overall braid with individually shielded pairs to reduce crosstalk and external interference, improving signal stability in electrically noisy environments. Cat6a specification allows support for higher bandwidths and extended reach at gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet speeds where cable and network hardware permit. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts enhance contact reliability and corrosion resistance, while the 15 m length offers flexibility for routing between devices without additional patching. The black outer jacket provides a neutral look that integrates with most networking setups.

Suitable for

• Wired Ethernet connections in home networks and small offices
• Connecting switches, routers, NAS devices, and workstations
• Environments with potential electromagnetic interference from nearby equipment
• Structured cabling runs requiring a 15 m cable length

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6a performance class
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid + individually shielded pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Length: 15 metres
• Color: Black
• Typical applications: Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet where supported

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to your network device (for example a router, switch, or network interface on a workstation) and the other end to the corresponding port on the paired device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted and secured to maintain stable contact. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, kinks, or prolonged compression that could impair performance. When installing in cabinets or behind furniture, keep the cable free from sources of extreme heat and avoid running parallel to high-voltage power lines to reduce potential interference.

Recommendations

For best performance, use with network equipment that supports Cat6a or higher standards. Avoid excessive bending radius and repeated flexing; keep cable runs within recommended distances for the desired Ethernet speed. Test connections with appropriate network testers after installation to verify signal quality and ensure optimal operation.
