The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 08-22010 Grey 0.5 m Cat6 U/UTP is a short patch cable designed for reliable gigabit Ethernet connections. This Cat6 U/UTP cable has RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts to maintain consistent signal quality and reduce contact resistance. With a compact 0.5 m length and grey jacket, it is intended for close-proximity connections where minimized cable slack and tidy routing are important.

Advantages

This networking cable supports Cat6 performance levels for data rates up to 1000 Mbit/s and provides stable transmission for typical office and home networking equipment. The U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair with unshielded overall) design balances flexibility and ease of installation while maintaining interference resistance appropriate for most indoor environments. Gold-plated RJ-45 plugs help ensure lasting contact quality and corrosion resistance for frequent plug/unplug cycles.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers and patch panels in server cabinets and desktop setups
• Short connections between wall ports and network devices in offices and apartments
• Linking networked devices such as PCs, printers and access points within close range

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6
• Shielding: U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair)
• Length: 0.5 m
• Connector type: RJ-45 on both ends
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts
• Maximum data rate: up to 1000 Mbit/s (Gigabit Ethernet)
• Color: grey

How to use

Insert each RJ-45 connector firmly into the corresponding network port on your devices until the latch clicks. Use the 0.5 m length for short-distance patching between wall outlets, switches and networked equipment; avoid stretching the cable or forcing it through overly tight conduits. Ensure ports are powered and configured according to your network settings. For best performance, connect Cat6-capable hardware and verify link speed on the device network interface.

Recommendations

Prefer using this short Cat6 U/UTP cable for tidy, short-range connections within racks or desktop setups. Keep the cable away from strong electromagnetic sources such as large unshielded power transformers to reduce potential interference. Inspect connectors periodically and replace the cable if contacts show visible wear or if link stability decreases.
