The Rothenberger Industrial Ratchet 1/2" (12.5 mm) model 027180E is a hand tool intended for professional mechanical and maintenance work. It features a 1/2" (12.5 mm) drive that secures standard sockets for tightening and loosening bolts and nuts. The ratchet is engineered for repetitive workshop tasks where reliable torque application, secure socket retention and robust construction are required.

Advantages

The ratchet offers precise engagement and a smooth switching mechanism that reduces wear during frequent use. Its 1/2" drive provides compatibility with a wide range of sockets and accessories commonly used in plumbing, automotive and industrial maintenance. The metal construction and calibrated gear mechanism deliver durability and consistent performance under regular load.

Suitable for

• Tightening and loosening fasteners in automotive repair
• Plumbing assembly and maintenance tasks
• General workshop and machinery servicing
• Maintenance work in industrial facilities

Key specifications

• Drive size: 1/2" (12.5 mm)
• Tool type: fixed-handle ratchet with reversible mechanism
• Material: corrosion-resistant metal alloy construction
• Gear teeth: fine-tooth gearing for smaller swing arc
• Handle: ergonomic metal handle designed for grip and control

How to use

Select a compatible socket and attach it to the 1/2" drive until it clicks into place. Set the ratchet direction using the reversible switch and apply steady force to turn the fastener, using short strokes when working in confined spaces. To remove the socket, pull the retaining mechanism or press the release (if present) and slide the socket off the drive. Use appropriate torque and extension accessories when required for specific fastening tasks.

Recommendations

Inspect the ratchet before use for visible damage or wear. Use suitable sockets rated for the expected torque and avoid applying sudden impacts with a hammer. Keep the ratchet clean and periodically apply light lubrication to the gear mechanism to maintain smooth operation and prolong service life.
