Μετατροπέας δικτυακών μέσων PLANET GST-802

The PLANET GST-802 is a compact network media converter that converts between 10/100/1000Base-T copper and 1000Base-SX fiber, providing a straightforward solution to extend Gigabit Ethernet links over multi-mode fiber up to 550 meters. It uses an SC connector and operates at an 850 nm wavelength, delivering wired connectivity suitable for FTTX and other fiber extension applications.

Advantages

The GST-802 combines plug-and-play operation with smart functions such as auto MDI/MDI-X on the TP port and DIP-switch configurable settings for fiber port modes. It supports Link Loss Carry Forward (LLCF) and Link Loss Return (LLR) to help diagnose link issues and alert administrators. The unit can operate standalone via a 5 V DC adapter or slide into a 19-inch managed media converter chassis for centralized monitoring and management.

Suitable for

• Extending Gigabit Ethernet over multi-mode fiber within buildings or campus environments
• FTTX deployment segments requiring 1000Base-SX links up to 550 m
• Network segments that need simple fiber-to-copper media conversion

Key specifications

• Model: PLANET GST-802
• Data rate: up to 2000 Mbit/s (aggregate)
• Copper port: 1 × 10/100/1000Base-T (RJ-45), auto MDI/MDI-X
• Fiber port: 1 × 1000Base-SX, SC connector, 850 nm
• Maximum multimode fiber distance: 550 m
• Power: 5 V DC, 2 A
• Color: Black
• Certifications: FCC Class A, CE Class A

How to use

Connect the RJ-45 Ethernet cable from your switch or device to the GST-802 TP port and insert the SC multimode fiber cable into the fiber port. Configure the fiber port mode and Link Pass-through options using the DIP switches if needed; otherwise the converter operates with auto-negotiation and plug-and-play simplicity. Power the unit with the supplied 5 V DC adapter for standalone use or insert it into a compatible PLANET 19-inch managed media converter chassis (MC-1610MR / MC-1610MR48) for centralized power and management.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use multimode fiber compliant with the 850 nm wavelength and keep fiber connectors clean. When deploying across larger installations, consider using the managed chassis to monitor link status and take advantage of LLCF/LLR functions for faster fault detection.
