The EFB Elektronik EC020200260 RJ-45 Cat8.1 3 m Grey is a high-performance network cable designed for demanding wired Ethernet connections. Compliant with Category 8.1 specifications and constructed with S/FTP shielding, the cable provides robust protection against electromagnetic interference while supporting very high data transfer rates. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors and a 3 m length make it suitable for linking switches, routers, servers and workstation network ports in professional and home environments.

Advantages

Cat8.1 performance delivers significantly higher bandwidth compared with earlier twisted-pair standards, enabling multi-gigabit and 40 Gbit/s applications over short distances. The S/FTP shielding (shielded overall with individually shielded pairs) minimises crosstalk and external noise for stable signal transmission. Gold-plated RJ-45 plugs improve contact reliability and reduce oxidation-related signal loss. The 3 m cable length balances flexibility and tidy installation in racks, desks and server rooms.

Suitable for

• High-speed LAN connections between switches and patch panels
• Server-to-switch links in data centres and rack environments
• Multi-gigabit or 40 Gbit/s short-reach links in professional networks
• Workstation or desktop connections where shielded cabling is required

Key specifications

• Category: Cat8.1
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil shield with individually shielded pairs)
• Maximum data rate: up to 40000 Mbit/s
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45, gold-plated contacts
• Cable length: 3 m
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the Ethernet port of the source device (switch, router or network card) and the other RJ-45 plug to the destination device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and electromagnetic interference sources; maintain gentle bend radius consistent with professional cabling practice. For patch panels and rack installations, use appropriate cable management to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use this Cat8.1 S/FTP cable for short-reach, high-bandwidth connections up to the specified length. Avoid running the cable alongside high-voltage power lines and keep it away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference. For permanent installations in data centres, verify connector compatibility with existing equipment and consider using labelled patching for easier maintenance.
