Κουτί προστασίας υπέρτασης Mobotix MX-Overvoltage-Protection-Box

The MOBOTIX Overvoltage Protection Box (MX-Overvoltage-Protection-Box, MPN: MX-Overvoltage-Prot.-RJ45) is a weatherproof RJ45 network connector designed to protect MOBOTIX IP cameras from transient voltage spikes on PoE network cabling. The white device provides surge protection up to 4 kV and is suitable for use between patch cable to patch cable or patch cable to installation cable connections. The complete set includes mounting supplies and is a suitable replacement for the MX-Patch-Box.

Advantages

The device offers IP65-rated weatherproofing and integrated surge protection for PoE network lines, reducing the risk of damage from transient overvoltages. It supports protection up to 4 kV and is supplied as a complete kit with mounting accessories, simplifying installation and replacement of the earlier MX-Patch-Box solution.

Suitable for

• Protecting MOBOTIX IP cameras on PoE networks
• Outdoor or exposed network connections requiring IP65 protection
• Patch cable to patch cable or patch cable to installation cable connections

Key specifications

• Brand: MOBOTIX
• Model: MX-Overvoltage-Protection-Box
• MPN: MX-Overvoltage-Prot.-RJ45
• EAN: 4047438018463
• Surge protection rating: up to 4 kV on PoE network cabling
• Ingress protection: IP65 (weatherproof connector)
• Connection type: RJ45 (for patch cable and installation cable)

How to use

Install the Overvoltage Protection Box inline on the network cable feeding the MOBOTIX IP camera, connecting either patch cable to patch cable or patch cable to installation cable as required. Follow the included mounting instructions and secure the weatherproof connector to maintain IP65 protection. Ensure cables are correctly seated in the RJ45 connectors and that grounding and overall network installation comply with local regulations and best practices.

Recommendations

Place the protection box close to the camera or at the transition between external and internal cabling to limit the risk of surge transfer. While the device mitigates transient overvoltages up to 4 kV, it does not guarantee prevention of all lightning-related damage; avoid routing power and network lines in parallel wherever possible and follow grounding recommendations.
