The BlueOptics CAB-OM4-SN-LC-10M-BO is a 10 metre multi-mode fibre optic patch cable designed for reliable, high-speed data transmission in structured networks. It uses OM4 laser-optimized 50 µm core fibre and offers SN/UPC to LC/UPC terminations in a pink LSZH jacket. The cable is suitable for connecting patch panel ports, linking optical transceivers, and creating short- to medium-distance links within data centres, server rooms, and telecommunications racks.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre cable provides higher bandwidth and extended reach for multi-mode applications compared with lower-grade multimode fibres. The SN/UPC to LC/UPC connectors deliver precise alignment and low insertion loss for consistent optical performance. The LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) outer jacket reduces toxic fume emission and flame propagation risk in confined installations. The 10 m length offers flexibility for common rack-to-rack and patch-panel connections without excessive slack.

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for contamination before installation and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Route the cable through racks or trays avoiding tight bends and keeping bend radius within manufacturer recommendations for OM4 fibre. Insert the SN/UPC and LC/UPC connectors into compatible transceiver ports or patch-panel adapters until they click into place. After connection, verify link integrity and optical loss using a power meter or network diagnostic tools.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable by the connector housings rather than pulling on the fibre. Maintain a minimum bend radius of at least 10 times the cable diameter to avoid increased attenuation. Use dust caps when connectors are not in use and perform endface cleaning to ensure low insertion loss and reliable links.
