The ShiverPeaks Fibre optic cable S/CONN ShiverPeaks 77942/3 is a 2 m OM3 multimode fibre patch cable designed for high-speed data links. It features an LC connector on one end and an ST connector on the other, with a 50 µm core diameter and turquoise jacket. The cable supports full duplex transmission and is suited for short- to medium-range optical links in data centre, networking and InfiniBand environments.

Advantages

This OM3 fibre cable provides low-loss multimode transmission and is optimized for 850 nm VCSEL-based systems, enabling reliable high-bandwidth connectivity. The mixed LC–ST connector pair allows flexibility when connecting different types of networking equipment and transceivers. The 2 m length offers a practical balance between reach and cable management, while the turquoise jacket simplifies visual identification in dense cabling runs.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand links and other high-speed interconnects
• Data centre patch panels and switch-to-transceiver connections
• Multimode fibre networking within racks and equipment rooms
• Short- to medium-distance optical connections using OM3 standard

Key specifications

• Fiber type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 2 m
• Connector A: LC
• Connector B: ST
• Transmission: full duplex
• Jacket color: turquoise

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces before installation for cleanliness and signs of damage. Align the LC connector and the ST connector with their respective ports and insert until the connector latches or secures in place. Ensure proper routing to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius specified for multimode fibre. For full duplex operation, use the correct transmit and receive ports on connected devices to maintain proper signal directionality.

Recommendations

To preserve performance, clean connectors with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before each connection, avoid excessive bending or crushing, and keep cable lengths appropriate for the OM3 reach required by your application. Label both ends if used in dense installations to facilitate troubleshooting and inventory management.
