The ShiverPeaks BS75711-AG Green 1m Cat6a S/FTP is a 1 metre network patch cable designed for high-speed Ethernet connections. With Cat6a specification and S/FTP shielding, the cable supports reliable data transmission at 10 Gbps over short to medium distances while limiting electromagnetic interference. Both ends are terminated with standard RJ-45 plugs for plug-and-play compatibility with switches, routers, patch panels and network devices. The green jacket provides clear visual identification in structured cabling and small network installations.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding combines an overall foil shield and individually foil-shielded twisted pairs to reduce crosstalk and external EMI, improving signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. Cat6a performance extends usable bandwidth and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet where required. The 1 m length offers a compact connection for patching between nearby ports without excess cable clutter. Standard RJ-45 terminations ensure wide compatibility and easy installation in typical network setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting servers, switches and patch panels in racks and cabinets
• Desktop or workstation connections to wall ports or switches
• Short horizontal runs in office, data centre or home network environments
• Environments requiring reduced interference such as near power equipment or dense cabling

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil + individually shielded pairs)
• Conductor type: twisted pair copper conductors
• Connector type: RJ-45 on both ends
• Length: 1 metre
• Colour: green
• Typical supported speed: up to 10 Gbps (over appropriate distances and equipment)

How to use

Insert each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding network port until the latch clicks. Use the cable for direct patching between adjacent devices such as switch-to-switch, switch-to-patch-panel or workstation-to-wall-port connections. Avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling force when routing the cable to preserve integrity of the shielding and conductors. For organised installations, route the cable alongside other patch leads or through cable management panels to maintain clear access to ports.

Recommendations

For optimal performance keep cable lengths appropriate for Cat6a specifications, avoid running parallel to high-voltage power lines where possible, and ensure connectors are fully seated. Use the green colour for easy identification in structured cabling schemes and replace damaged cables to maintain network reliability.
