The ShiverPeaks BS75711-A1.5G Green is a 1.5 metre Cat6a S/FTP networking cable with RJ-45 connectors at both ends. Designed for high-speed Ethernet applications, the cable supports up to 10 Gbps transmission rates over appropriate network hardware and provides improved protection against external electromagnetic interference thanks to its S/FTP shielding construction. The cable's green jacket makes it easy to identify in patch panels and structured cabling installations while offering a flexible yet durable build for typical home and office environments.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding structure combines an overall foil with individually shielded pairs to reduce crosstalk and external interference, improving signal integrity in dense cabling environments. Cat6a specification delivers higher bandwidth and extended frequency range compared with lower category cables, enabling reliable performance for bandwidth-intensive tasks. Factory-terminated RJ-45 plugs on each end ensure consistent contact and simplified installation without the need for on-site termination.

Suitable for

• Wired Ethernet connections between switches, routers and endpoints
• High-speed data transfer for NAS units, servers and workstations
• Structured cabling in offices, server rooms and home networks
• Environments with potential electromagnetic interference where improved shielding is required

Key specifications

• Length: 1.5 m
• Category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually foil‑shielded pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 on both ends, factory-terminated
• Colour: Green
• Typical supported speed: up to 10 Gbps over suitable network equipment and distances within Cat6a limits
• Application environment: indoor use, patch panels, desktop connections

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to a network device such as a switch, router or network interface on a computer and the other plug to the corresponding port on the destination device. Ensure both connected devices support the intended network speed and that cable routing avoids sharp bends and sources of heat. For structured installations, label both ends and route the cable through cable management channels or patch panels to maintain order and accessibility.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, avoid tight loops and bending the cable beyond its minimum bend radius, keep the cable away from strong electromagnetic sources such as unshielded power transformers and fluorescent ballasts, and use appropriate cable management to prevent strain on the RJ-45 connectors. Select Cat6a-rated patch panels and keystone jacks when integrating this cable into structured cabling to preserve its shielding and performance characteristics.
