The METZ CONNECT 13084U5033-E RJ-45 Cat6 5 m Grey is a structured networking cable designed for reliable Ethernet connections in home, office and professional network environments. Built to the Cat6 performance standard with S/FTP shielding, the cable supports higher data rates and reduced electromagnetic interference compared with unshielded alternatives. The grey outer jacket provides a neutral appearance suitable for visible installations and cable runs.

Advantages

The cable’s Cat6 specification provides improved signal integrity and bandwidth headroom for Gigabit Ethernet and beyond. S/FTP shielding (overall foil with individually shielded pairs) minimizes crosstalk and external interference, making it suitable for installations near other electronic equipment or cable bundles. Both ends are fitted with standard RJ-45 connectors for plug-and-play compatibility with switches, routers, patch panels and network devices. A 5 m length offers flexibility for typical desk-to-wall or rack-to-equipment connections while keeping slack manageable.

Suitable for

• Gigabit Ethernet connections in homes and small offices
• Patch cable use in network cabinets and patch panels
• Connecting routers, switches and desktop computers
• Environments where reduced electromagnetic interference is required

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually shielded pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Length: 5 m
• Outer colour: Grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to the network device such as a switch, router or modem and the other end to the target device such as a PC, NAS or patch panel. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive stretching; maintain bend radius recommended for structured cabling to preserve performance. For installations in electrically noisy environments, connect cable shields to grounded network equipment when applicable.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat6 S/FTP cable for Gigabit Ethernet or higher-demand links and avoid running it in parallel with high-voltage power lines. Inspect connectors for damage before use and replace the cable if shielding or jacket is compromised.
