The Lanberg PCF7-10CU-0500-S RJ-45 Cat7 5 m Grey is a straight-through networking cable designed for high-speed wired connections. With a 5 meter length and Cat7 specification, this cable supports high data transfer rates up to 1250 Mbit/s. The S/FTP shielding construction reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, making it suitable for environments where signal integrity is important. Both ends are terminated with RJ-45 connectors and the cable comes in a neutral grey finish to integrate with office or home network setups.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding minimizes external interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk for more stable data transmission. Cat7 compliance enables higher bandwidth and better performance compared to lower category cables. The 5 m length balances flexibility and reach for typical desktop-to-switch or patch panel connections. RJ-45 terminations provide broad compatibility with network devices and the grey jacket offers a discreet appearance.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers, switches, routers and patch panels in home or office networks
• High-bandwidth applications such as HD video streaming and large file transfers
• Environments requiring reduced electromagnetic interference and improved signal integrity
• Temporary or permanent patching where a 5 m cable length is appropriate

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat7
• Cable type: Straight-through
• Length: 5 m
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid with individually shielded pairs)
• Colour: Grey
• Nominal data rate: up to 1250 Mbit/s

How to use

Route the cable between network devices keeping bends gentle to preserve internal pair geometry. Plug each RJ-45 connector securely into the corresponding ports on devices such as computers, switches or routers until the latch clicks. For wall-mounted outlets or racks, use appropriate cable management to avoid stress on connectors. Test the connection after installation to confirm link status and transfer speeds.

Recommendations

Use the cable in shielded or mixed environments to benefit from S/FTP shielding; avoid routing in close parallel to high-voltage power lines when possible. For best performance, combine Cat7 cables with compatible network equipment and check connectors for damage before use. Store coiled without tight kinks and replace if the jacket or connectors are visibly compromised.
