The EFB Elektronik EC020200287 RJ-45 Cat8.1 20 m Orange networking cable is a high-performance Ethernet cable designed for demanding network environments. Compliant with the Cat8.1 standard, it supports multi-gigabit and data center connections with theoretical data transfer rates up to 40000 Mbit/s. The cable uses S/FTP (S-STP) shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk, and features RJ-45 connectors with gold plating for reliable contact and corrosion resistance. Its 20 m length and bright orange jacket make it suitable for visible cable runs and organized installations.

Advantages

The S/FTP (S-STP) construction provides effective protection against external interference and preserves signal integrity across the full bandwidth of Cat8.1. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors ensure low contact resistance and long-term mechanical stability. With a 20 m reach, the cable supports flexible placement of networking equipment without additional patching, and the orange jacket improves cable identification and routing in complex setups. The cable is engineered to meet the electrical and physical characteristics required for high-frequency Ethernet transmission.

Suitable for

• Data center trunking and short backbone links
• High-speed LAN connections in offices and server rooms
• Workstations requiring multi-gigabit throughput
• Visible runs where color-coded cabling aids management
• Environments with potential electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Category: Cat8.1 compliant cable suitable for high-frequency Ethernet
• Length: 20 m
• Shielding: S/FTP (individually shielded pairs with overall braid)
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Maximum theoretical data rate: up to 40000 Mbit/s
• Jacket colour: orange

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to the network port of a switch, router or network adapter and the other end to the destination device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted and clips engage to maintain secure contact. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, excessive pulling, or close proximity to high-voltage power lines; follow standard bend radius and strain-relief practices. For permanent installations, verify link speed and performance using appropriate network testing tools to confirm expected throughput and signal quality.

Recommendations

Use this Cat8.1 S/FTP cable for short to medium-length high-speed connections where reduced interference and clear identification are required. Avoid running parallel to unshielded power cables and respect the cable's mechanical limits; periodic inspection of connector integrity is recommended in high-traffic areas.
