The Dätwyler Cables 21.05.0515 Black 1 m Cat6a S/FTP is a high-performance network patch cable designed for stable, high-speed data transmission in structured cabling and local area networks. This 1 meter cable conforms to Category 6a specifications and uses S/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, ensuring reliable connections between network devices with RJ-45 terminations on both ends.

Advantages

S/FTP construction combines an overall shield with individually foil-shielded pairs to provide improved noise immunity compared with unshielded or only foil-shielded cables. The Cat6a rating supports higher bandwidth and sustained data rates suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet at shorter distances. A compact 1 meter length reduces cable clutter in patch panel to switch or workstation connections and the black jacket offers a neutral appearance that integrates with most data-centre and office environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers and patch panels in server rooms and network closets
• High-speed workstation connections for desktops and IP devices
• Short-run 10 Gigabit Ethernet links within racks or between adjacent equipment
• Environments where shielding is required to minimise electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6a (augmented performance for 10GBASE-T)
• Length: 1 m
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braided or foil plus individually foil-shielded pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 on both ends, 8P8C
• Conductor type: twisted pair copper
• Jacket colour: black
• Typical use: Ethernet, data networking, PoE-capable networks

How to use

Plug the RJ-45 connectors firmly into the corresponding ports on network devices, ensuring proper alignment and a secure click. Use the 1 m length to connect adjacent equipment such as a switch to a patch panel or a workstation to a wall outlet. Avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling during installation to preserve shielding integrity and cable performance. If used in shielded installations, ensure proper grounding at termination points to benefit fully from the S/FTP shielding.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, route the cable away from large electrical power sources and maintain bend radii recommended by industry standards. When used in PoE applications or high-density racks, verify airflow and cable management to prevent heat buildup. Terminate and ground shielding according to installer guidelines to maintain EMI protection.
