ACT DA4903 is a Cat6a U/FTP (STP) slimline patch cable in black with a 3 m length, designed for high-speed Ethernet and 10 Gigabit-capable networks. It has a straight RJ45 connector on one end and a 90° angled up RJ45 connector on the other, with gold-plated contacts to ensure reliable signal transfer and corrosion resistance. The slim 3.8 mm jacket and reduced bend radius help improve airflow and fit in confined spaces such as server racks, network cabinets and behind equipment. The jacket is Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) to reduce the risk of toxic gases in case of fire or cable damage.

Advantages

The slim 3.8 mm diameter and smaller bend radius allow denser cable routing and improved airflow in cabinets compared with standard Cat6A cables. Full copper 32 AWG conductors combined with 50 µ gold-plated RJ45 contacts provide consistent electrical performance for 10 GbE links while the LSZH jacket lowers the hazard from smoke and halogen gases in the event of fire. The combination of a straight and a 90° angled up connector offers flexible installation options where space is limited.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This slimline Cat6a cable is not intended for applications requiring thicker, heavily shielded multi-pair cables for extreme EMI environments; in such cases a different cable type or additional external shielding may be preferable. It is also not a substitute for fiber-optic cabling where very long distances or optical connections are required.

Key specifications

How to use

Route the cable through the rack or cabinet while respecting the reduced bend radius; use the straight or angled connector end as needed to minimise stress at the device port. Insert the RJ45 connectors firmly into the corresponding ports on switches, patch panels or devices until they click. Avoid tight kinks and maintain gentle bends to preserve transmission performance. For best airflow and cable management, group slimline cables together along cable channels or use horizontal and vertical management panels.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

Use the 90° angled up connector where rear space is limited and the straight end where clearance allows; avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling force during installation to maintain cable performance and longevity.
