Καλώδιο οπτικών ινών Alcasa 10m ST/ST

The Alcasa 10m ST/ST fibre optic cable is a 10-metre duplex connection designed for high-speed optical data transmission. It uses OM3 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter and ST connectors on both ends, providing a stable physical link for networking equipment. The cable supports full duplex communication and is suitable for environments where low-latency, high-throughput links are required, including InfiniBand setups and other short‑reach optical networks.

Advantages

This OM3 ST/ST fibre offers consistent multimode performance with a 50 µm core that supports higher bandwidth over short to medium distances compared with lower-grade multimode fibres. Full duplex operation enables simultaneous bidirectional data flow, reducing communication delays. The ST connectors provide reliable bayonet-style coupling for secure connections in patch panels, switches, and transceivers. The 10 m length gives flexibility for rack-to-rack and equipment-to-equipment cabling within server rooms and telecommunications closets.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand links and high-performance computing interconnects
• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections in data centres
• Patch panel to transceiver connections in networking cabinets
• Short-reach fibre backbone runs within buildings

Key specifications

• Cable length: 10 metres
• Fibre type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST on both ends (duplex)
• Communication mode: Full duplex

How to use

Ensure equipment is powered down or that hot‑swap procedures for optical transceivers are followed before connecting the cable. Insert each ST connector into the corresponding ST receptacle and twist the bayonet coupling to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension; maintain minimum bend radius as recommended for multimode fibre to prevent microbends and signal loss. Verify link status using the host device or network management tools, and perform optical testing if required to confirm expected attenuation and throughput.

Recommendations

Handle the OM3 multimode fibre with care: keep connector endfaces clean and capped when not in use, avoid tight bends, and store the cable in a dust‑free environment. For best performance in data centre and InfiniBand applications, pair this cable with compatible multimode transceivers and maintain proper cable management to minimize strain and preserve signal integrity.
