The Datalogic Gryphon GM4200 is a handheld 1D barcode reader from the Gryphon 4200 premium series, designed for general-purpose scanning tasks. This wireless GM4200 model uses a CCD sensor and offers a cordless scanning solution with a radio range suitable for retail and logistics environments. The scanner is lightweight, has an IP52 rating for basic protection against dust and water, and includes a rechargeable lithium‑ion battery for sustained operation.

Advantages

The Gryphon GM4200 delivers best-in-class reading performance for 1D codes, including the ability to read both high-density and low-resolution barcodes, poorly printed or damaged labels, and codes displayed on mobile device screens. Motionix motion-sensing technology detects operator movement to automatically put the scanner into ready-to-read mode, while the soft line viewfinder simplifies aiming and reduces accidental reads when multiple barcodes are present. Cordless operation provides greater mobility within a typical 50 m operating range.

Suitable for

• Retail point-of-sale scanning
• Inventory management and stock control
• Warehouse and goods-in/goods-out processing
• Mobile payment and ticket validation

For codes on mobile devices, position the screen within the viewfinder area and scan as you would printed labels.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, keep the scanner lens clean and avoid scanning from extreme angles. Use the cordless range within open line-of-sight where possible; performance may vary in environments with radio interference or dense shelving. Follow the device maintenance and charging guidelines in the official Datalogic user manual.
