The InLine external Mini SAS HD Cable SFF-8644 to SFF-8088 27639B is a 1 m external SAS cable designed for connecting SAS devices such as storage enclosures, streamers, or controllers. It supports data transfer rates up to 6 Gb/s and uses SFF-8644 (Mini SAS HD) to SFF-8088 connectors for compatibility with a wide range of servers, RAID controllers and external storage systems.

Advantages

This external Mini SAS HD cable provides a stable, shielded connector pair and a compact SFF-8644 form factor that reduces connector footprint while maintaining a Secure Serial Attached SCSI link. The cable’s 1 m length balances reach and signal integrity for typical rack and server installations. It is compatible with devices that use SFF-8644 and SFF-8088 interfaces and is identified by manufacturer part number 27639B and EAN 4043718232826.

Suitable for

• Connecting external storage enclosures to servers or RAID controllers
• Linking tape streamers or backup devices to controller ports
• Interfacing SAS HBAs, switches and external expansion units

Avoid sharp bends and excessive tension on the cable during installation to maintain signal integrity.

Recommendations

Use this 1 m Mini SAS HD cable in rack or desktop environments where short external connections are needed; replace the cable if connectors show wear or if link errors occur. For optimal performance, ensure compatibility of device firmware and SAS host bus adapter settings with SAS-2 (6 Gb/s) operation.
