The M-Cab EC020200320 RJ-45 Cat8.1 20 m White is a high-performance networking cable designed for demanding wired connections. It adheres to the Cat8.1 standard and uses S/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. Equipped with RJ-45 connectors and gold-plated contacts, the cable supports very high data transfer rates up to 40000 Mbit/s over compatible hardware while maintaining signal integrity across a 20-metre length. The white outer jacket provides a clean appearance suitable for visible installations.

Advantages

S/FTP construction delivers improved protection against external interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk, helping to preserve bandwidth and reduce packet loss in congested environments. The Cat8.1 rating enables support for very high-frequency signals and faster network performance when used with compatible switches, routers and NICs. Gold-plated contacts on the RJ-45 plugs ensure reliable mating and lower contact resistance for consistent throughput. The 20 m length allows flexible placement of devices without relying on additional patch panels or intermediate extenders.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• High-speed wired connections in home and small office networks
• Backbone links between switches and network equipment
• Connections for servers, NAS devices and media streaming systems
• Environments where reduced electromagnetic interference is required

Key specifications

• Standard: Cat8.1
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually shielded pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Contact plating: Gold-plated contacts
• Length: 20 m
• Colour: White
• Maximum supported data rate: up to 40000 Mbit/s (dependent on connected devices and network configuration)

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 connector to the networking device (switch, router, NIC or modem) and the other connector to the endpoint device, such as a computer, server or NAS. Ensure both devices support the required network standards for high-speed operation. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and avoid running it in close parallel with high-voltage power lines to minimize interference. Verify link negotiation settings on both ends and test the connection using network diagnostics or speed-test tools to confirm expected throughput.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat8.1 S/FTP cable with compatible high-speed network equipment and maintain bend radii recommended by the manufacturer. Avoid stretching the cable and keep connectors clean to ensure reliable long-term operation.
