Canon EW-63C Παρασολάς

The Canon EW-63C lens hood reduces flare and ghosting by blocking stray light entering the lens, which is especially useful when shooting toward a light source. It also provides basic physical protection for the lens’s front element against scratches and minor impacts. The hood is round, fits lenses with a 5.5 cm diameter, and comes in a black finish that matches typical camera equipment.

Advantages

The round design effectively prevents unwanted stray light and helps maintain contrast and color fidelity in backlit or high-contrast scenes. It offers additional protection for the front element from accidental contact and light abrasions without adding significant bulk or weight. The black finish minimizes reflections and integrates visually with Canon camera gear.

How to use

Align the hood with the lens’s front threads or bayonet mount (depending on lens design) and twist or press until it locks securely in place. When not in use, reverse-mount the hood onto the lens if your lens supports it, or remove and store it in your camera bag. Ensure the hood is correctly attached before shooting into bright light to reduce flare and ghosting.

Recommendations

Use the EW-63C when shooting in conditions with strong side or backlighting to improve image contrast; remove or reverse the hood only when using wide-angle attachments or when the hood causes vignetting.
