SFP-Transceiver οπτικής ίνας CBO SFP-1G-MMF-2KM — 1 Gbps, Multimode, 2 km

CBO SFP-1G-MMF-2KM is a compact fiber optic SFP transceiver from BlueOptics that supports 1 Gbps data transmission over multimode fiber up to 2 km. Designed for use in network switches and routers with SFP ports, this module provides a plug-and-play form factor that simplifies installation and replacement. The transceiver is intended for short-range fiber links in enterprise networks, campus backbones and data center interconnects where multimode fiber is deployed.

Advantages

The module delivers a standardized SFP form factor with stable 1 Gbps performance over multimode fiber up to 2 km, enabling quick deployment without requiring firmware changes. Its compact design reduces slot space and supports hot-swapping for minimal downtime. Compatibility with common SFP ports and straightforward optical connection makes it suitable for maintenance and upgrades of existing fiber infrastructure.

Suitable for

• Short-range fiber connections between switches and routers within a building or campus
• Data center uplinks and server-to-switch links over multimode fiber
• Network upgrades where 1 Gbps multimode optical links are required
• Replacement of failed or legacy SFP modules in multimode fiber deployments

Key specifications

• Data rate: 1 Gbps
• Fiber type: Multimode fiber (MMF)
• Maximum link distance: up to 2 km
• Form factor: SFP (small form-factor pluggable)
• Optical interface: multimode transceiver
• Installation: hot-pluggable

How to use

Insert the SFP module into an available SFP port on a compatible switch or router until it clicks into place. Connect multimode fiber patch cords to the transceiver's optical interface, ensuring correct polarity and clean connectors. The device is hot-pluggable; after insertion the host equipment should detect the module and negotiate the link at 1 Gbps. Use appropriate network configuration on the switch or router to enable the port and monitor link status and optical signal levels via the host management interface.

Recommendations

Use cleaned and certified multimode fiber patch cords and maintain connector cleanliness to ensure optimal optical performance. Verify that the connected equipment supports SFP multimode transceivers and configure link settings according to network design. For distances near the 2 km limit, confirm fiber type and link budget to maintain reliable operation.
