The Modular Patch Connector Cat.6 ShiverPeaks 75006 — Adapter for Network Cabling is a Category 6 modular adapter designed to provide a reliable connection point in structured cabling environments. It accepts terminated RJ45 plugs and mates them through a compact, pass-through adapter body that maintains Cat6 signal characteristics for short patching and equipment connections. The adapter is intended for use where flexible, temporary, or permanent connection points are needed in LAN wiring, office networks, and telecommunications cabinets.

Advantages

The adapter preserves Category 6 performance for typical patching scenarios, offering a simple mechanical mating solution without requiring retermination of existing cables. Its modular form factor enables quick insertion into faceplates, patch panels, or inline adapters, reducing downtime during changes or testing. The design is compatible with standard unshielded RJ45 connectors and provides a stable contact interface to support Ethernet speeds up to Cat6 specifications in short link segments.

Suitable for

• Patching between terminated Cat6 cables and equipment
• Temporary extensions or inline connections in office LANs
• Testing and troubleshooting of structured cabling runs
• Connections within network closets and small data cabinets

Key specifications

• Category rating: Cat6 performance for patching applications
• Connector type: Modular RJ45 pass-through interface
• Cabling compatibility: Unshielded twisted pair (UTP) Cat5e/Cat6 terminated plugs
• Form factor: Compact inline adapter suitable for faceplates and patch panels
• Typical use: Short patch links and equipment mating; not intended to extend full channel length budgets

How to use

Insert the terminated RJ45 plug from the cable into one side of the modular adapter and plug the mating RJ45 connector from equipment or another patch cable into the opposite side. Ensure connectors are fully seated until a tactile click confirms engagement. Use the adapter for short patch connections where replacing or reterminating cables is impractical; avoid using multiple adapters in a single permanent channel to prevent signal degradation. For optimal performance, verify link continuity and speed with a network tester after installation.

Recommendations

Place the adapter in accessible locations such as patch panels or faceplates to allow easy changes; avoid exposing the adapter to mechanical strain, moisture, or excessive bending near the connector interface. When creating permanent cabling runs, prefer direct termination and limit the use of inline adapters to temporary or testing scenarios to maintain Cat6 channel integrity.
