Αντάπτορας φύλου ShiverPeaks 78253 — Αντάπτορας 2×9-pin SUB-D αρσενικός

Gender Changer ShiverPeaks 78253 — 2×9-pin SUB‑D connector adapter is a compact passive adapter that links two DB9 connectors while reversing connector gender. It is intended for use with devices and cables that use the 9‑pin SUB‑D (DB9) form factor, providing a direct mechanical way to convert between male and female connectors without altering the pin assignments. The adapter is suitable for straightforward patching and short cable adaptation in serial RS‑232 setups and legacy peripheral connections.

Advantages

The adapter offers a small footprint and a low-profile mechanical design that makes it convenient for tight spaces and short cable runs. As a passive gender changer it requires no power or configuration and preserves the existing pin layout, ensuring compatibility with standard RS‑232 signal wiring. Its simple construction reduces points of failure and enables quick connection changes between crossed or non-crossed serial cables and devices.

Suitable for

• Short patching between two DB9 serial cables
• Connecting legacy RS‑232 peripherals to modern serial cabling
• Reversing connector gender for equipment mating without rewiring
• Temporary swaps and on-site cable troubleshooting

Key specifications

• Connector type: 2 × 9‑pin SUB‑D (DB9)
• Function: gender changer — reverses male/female connector orientation
• Signal compatibility: RS‑232 and other 9‑pin serial interfaces that use standard pin assignments
• Form factor: compact, low‑profile inline adapter
• Installation: plug‑in connection, no tools required

How to use

Align the DB9 connectors of the adapter with the corresponding male or female connectors on your cables or devices and push until the connectors engage. If the connected equipment uses fastening screws, secure the screws to ensure a stable mechanical connection. The adapter does not change pin mapping, so verify that both sides use compatible RS‑232 pinouts before use. Remove the adapter by loosening any screw fasteners and gently pulling the connectors apart.

Recommendations

Use the adapter for short, in‑line connections and temporary adaptation; avoid subjecting it to heavy mechanical strain or using it as a permanent extension where robust cable shielding or environmental protection is required. Check device pinouts and grounding practices when working with RS‑232 equipment to ensure signal integrity.
