The STEINEL IS 180-2 Wired Wall Black is a wired infrared motion sensor for wall mounting, designed to detect movement up to 12 meters. Its compact housing in black fits discreetly on façades, entrance areas and under soffits. With IP54 protection, the sensor is resistant to dust ingress and splashing water, enabling reliable outdoor use. The device operates from a 230–240 V, 50 Hz supply and offers straightforward integration into lighting and security installations where fixed wiring is required.

Advantages

The IS 180-2 provides a long detection range of up to 12 m combined with a narrow, precise detection pattern suitable for targeted coverage. Its durable IP54-rated enclosure ensures protection against dust and rain, supporting outdoor installation. The wired connection delivers stable power and reliable triggering without the need for batteries, and the compact dimensions allow installation in limited spaces. The black finish reduces visual impact on building façades.

Suitable for

• Wall-mounted outdoor lighting control for entrances and walkways
• Activation of security or perimeter lighting
• Garage or carport illumination with fixed wiring
• Replacement or upgrade of existing wired motion sensor systems

How to use

Install the sensor on a vertical wall surface at the recommended height and orientation to cover the target area. Connect the device to the mains wiring following local electrical regulations and ensure the power is switched off during installation. Adjust the alignment and, if applicable, any built-in sensitivity or time settings according to the installation requirements. After wiring and placement are complete, restore power and test detection by walking through the coverage area to confirm reliable switching of the controlled lighting or load.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, mount the sensor where the detection zone is free from obstructions and heat sources such as vents or direct sunlight. Use the sensor with weatherproof junction boxes or protective mounting if installed in exposed locations. Observe local electrical codes during wiring and, if uncertain, consult a qualified electrician for installation and commissioning.
