Walimex Follow Focus F3 μαύρο μπλε λευκό αλουμίνιο πλαστικό 460 g

The Walimex Follow Focus F3 Black Blue White Aluminium Plastic 460g is a compact follow focus unit engineered for precise manual focus control in video and film production. Constructed from a combination of aluminium and durable plastic, it balances rigidity and lightness to support smooth focus pulls. With overall dimensions of 88 mm in length and 188 mm in width and a weight of approximately 460 g, the device is sized for easy handling and mounting on standard rod-based support systems.

Advantages

This follow focus offers accurate, repeatable focus adjustments thanks to its well-machined focus wheel and reliable gearing. The lightweight aluminium and plastic construction reduces load on camera rigs while maintaining structural integrity for consistent performance. Compact dimensions make it suitable for use on smaller rigs and gimbals, and the ergonomic wheel design allows for controlled, tactile operation during extended shooting sessions.

Suitable for

• Independent filmmakers and videographers requiring manual focus control
• Studio and location shoots with rod-mounted camera rigs
• Documentary and narrative productions where precise focus pulls are needed
• Use on small to medium-sized cameras and lightweight stabilizers

Key specifications

• Materials: aluminium and plastic construction for balance of strength and weight
• Weight: approximately 460 g for minimal additional load
• Dimensions: 88 mm (length) × 188 mm (width) for compact footprint
• Focus control: manual, geared focus wheel for repeatable adjustments
• Compatibility: designed to mount on standard 15 mm rod-based support systems (check rod and lens gear compatibility)

How to use

Mount the follow focus on a compatible rod support system and align the drive gear with the lens focus gear. Secure the unit so the gear engagement is firm but not overly tight to avoid binding. Use the focus wheel to rotate the lens focus ring smoothly; practice the amount of input required for your lens to achieve consistent focus pulls. Make micro-adjustments while monitoring the image on your camera or external monitor to confirm sharpness during movement.

Recommendations

Before each shoot, verify gear alignment and rotation smoothness. For best results, pair the follow focus with a lens gear ring sized to your lens. When mounting on gimbals or lightweight rigs, account for the unit's weight and center of gravity to maintain balance. Regularly inspect moving parts and keep the gear surfaces free of debris to ensure long-term reliable operation.
