The Eaton 5E Gen2 900 USB is a line-interactive UPS that provides reliable power protection for home and small office equipment. Delivering 0.9 kVA (480 W) output through two Type E AC outlets and featuring a USB 2.0 port for PC communication, this compact black UPS uses double-boost Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to stabilise under- and overvoltage and preserve battery life during outages. Its fanless design up to 1200 VA and compact housing support quiet, space-saving integration. The unit includes auto-restart after total battery discharge, cold-start capability and automatic battery testing with replacement alarm.

Advantages

The Eaton 5E Gen2 900 USB combines AVR voltage regulation and battery backup to protect equipment and data from power loss while reducing unnecessary battery use. Easy integration is enabled by national outlet formats and USB connectivity for automatic Windows/MacOS/Linux shutdown. The fanless design ensures silent operation, and factory safety certification (TUV/CE) and a two-year warranty provide verified quality and support.

How to use

Connect critical devices to the two AC outlets and plug the UPS into a mains outlet. For safe automated shutdown, connect the USB 2.0 cable to a PC and install Eaton UPS Companion or allow the operating system to detect the UPS for native power management. The double-boost AVR handles voltage fluctuations automatically; when mains fails, the UPS provides battery power and will auto-restart when mains power returns after a full battery discharge. Use the cold-start function to start the UPS from battery without mains if needed.

Recommendations

Place the UPS in a well-ventilated, dust-free area away from heat sources. Regularly run the automatic battery test and replace the battery when the replacement alarm indicates. Ensure connected equipment total power draw does not exceed 480 W to maintain proper backup time and device safety.
