Why choose it

The G Master series represents Sony's pinnacle of optical engineering. This lens combines extraordinary sharpness with a beautiful bokeh, thanks to the 11-blade circular aperture and XA elements that suppress onion-ring artefacts. The XD Linear Motor delivers fast, precise, and silent autofocus, ideal for both stills and video. The de-clickable aperture ring allows smooth, silent exposure adjustments during recording, while the focus hold button can be customised for additional control. Dust and moisture resistance ensures reliable performance in challenging conditions.

Ideal use cases

• Street photography in low light
• Astrophotography and night landscapes
• Environmental portraits with shallow depth of field
• Video production requiring silent autofocus and aperture control

Good to know

This lens does not include optical image stabilization; it relies on the camera body's IBIS for stabilization. The 67mm filter thread allows the use of standard filters. The focus hold button can be customized via the camera menu for various functions.
