Server GIGABYTE R283-Z96-ACE1 2U Rack, AMD EPYC, Dual-Socket

GIGABYTE R283-Z96-ACE1 is a 2U rack server platform engineered for AMD EPYC processors and dual-socket configurations. The chassis delivers a dense rack footprint and is designed to support enterprise workloads in data centers, virtualization environments, and compute- or storage-intensive applications. This server platform provides a balance of processing capacity, memory scalability and I/O expandability required for scalable deployments where high core counts and rack-mounted architecture are essential.

Advantages

The 2U form factor offers a compact yet serviceable platform for high-density installations while accommodating dual-socket AMD EPYC processors for increased parallel processing. The design supports extensive memory and I/O options to address virtualization, database and storage workloads. Built for rack environments, this server simplifies integration into standard data center infrastructures and supports common enterprise management and serviceability requirements.

Suitable for

• Virtualization hosts and hyperconverged infrastructure
• Database servers and analytics platforms
• High-performance compute and batch processing
• Storage servers, software-defined storage and caching layers
• Enterprise applications and multi-tenant hosting

Key specifications

• Form factor: 2U rack-mount chassis suitable for standard server racks
• Processor architecture: AMD EPYC support with dual-socket capability for high core counts
• Memory: design supports large memory capacity and multi-channel configurations for memory-intensive workloads
• I/O expandability: multiple expansion slots and drive bays to support NVMe, SATA or SAS storage configurations and add-in cards
• Cooling and power: rack-optimized cooling layout and redundant power supply options suitable for continuous data center operation
• Serviceability: front-accessible components and rack-friendly service points for maintenance and upgrades

How to use

Install the server into a compatible 19-inch rack using appropriate rails and mounting hardware. Populate processor sockets with supported AMD EPYC CPUs according to platform guidelines, install memory modules in matched configurations to enable full channel bandwidth, and configure storage and I/O cards in available bays and slots. Connect power feeds to redundant power supplies if present, attach network and management interfaces, and follow the vendor’s firmware and BIOS setup procedure to provision system firmware, RAID or storage controllers, and server management agents before deploying operating systems and workloads.

Recommendations

For optimal performance in virtualization and database workloads, use matched memory kits installed per channel population rules, configure local storage for required I/O performance (prefer NVMe for high throughput / low latency), and deploy redundant power and cooling in the rack. Keep firmware, BMC and drivers up to date and follow vendor guidelines for CPU power profiles and thermal management to maintain stable operation under sustained load.
