Σειριακό καλώδιο ShiverPeaks BS78047-5 Γκρι 5 m SUB-D

The ShiverPeaks BS78047-5 Grey 5 m SUB-D serial cable is a flexible, shielded connection cable designed for reliable point-to-point data transmission between devices that use SUB-D interfaces. With a five-metre length and a neutral grey jacket, the cable supports common serial communication setups in offices, workshops, industrial environments, and home labs where a robust physical link and predictable signal integrity are required.

Advantages

This serial cable offers a durable construction with strain relief at the connector ends and a protective outer jacket to resist abrasion and everyday wear. The SUB-D connector provides a secure, low-profile mating interface that minimizes accidental disconnection. The cable's length balances reach and signal stability to accommodate typical desk-to-equipment connections without unnecessary slack. It is compatible with standard serial ports and designed to maintain consistent data transmission over its full length.

Suitable for

• Connecting computers, modems, routers, or legacy devices with SUB-D serial ports
• Industrial control panels and programming interfaces for equipment maintenance
• POS terminals and barcode scanners that require a stable serial link
• Laboratory setups and test benches where a reliable data cable is needed

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 metres
• Connector type: SUB-D (male/female variant as applicable to device)
• Outer jacket colour: grey
• Construction: shielded serial cable with strain relief
• Signal type: serial data transmission (RS-232/compatible environments)

How to use

Align the SUB-D connector with the corresponding port on the device and engage the securing screws or latch if present to ensure a firm mechanical and electrical connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and places of high mechanical stress; use cable ties or clips to secure it along a predictable path. When connecting to equipment, power down devices if recommended by the manufacturer before attaching the cable to prevent transient events. After installation, verify communication using appropriate terminal software or device diagnostics.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, avoid running the serial cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines or sources of electromagnetic interference. Keep the cable length appropriate for the communication environment and inspect connectors periodically for signs of wear or corrosion. If long-term outdoor or harsh-environment use is required, consider additional protection such as conduit or protective sheathing.
