The Datalogic Gryphon GM4200 is a wireless handheld 1D barcode reader from the Gryphon 4200 premium series, designed for general-purpose scanning. It combines a CCD sensor, support for GS1 DataBar, a lightweight body (0.235 kg) and a built-in Lithium‑Ion battery to provide reliable handheld scanning with a wireless range up to 50 metres and IP52 protection.

Advantages

The Gryphon GM4200 offers best-in-class reading performance for 1D barcodes, including high-density and low-resolution codes, as well as poorly printed or damaged labels. Motionix motion-sensing technology detects operator movement and automatically switches the scanner into ready-to-read mode, while the soft line viewfinder helps target codes accurately to reduce accidental reads. Wireless connectivity and a lightweight ergonomic design support comfortable handheld use in a variety of environments.

How to use

Hold the scanner so the soft line viewfinder is aligned with the barcode and move the unit naturally toward the target; Motionix technology will place the scanner into ready-to-read mode. Press the trigger to aim and decode the code or use automatic trigger mode if configured. For mobile screens, position the display at a readable angle and distance to obtain a clean decode.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, keep the scanner’s window clean and avoid extreme angles when aiming at degraded or very low-contrast codes. Charge the Lithium‑Ion battery regularly and follow your organisation’s pairing and security procedures for wireless devices. Use the Gryphon GM4200 in environments compatible with its IP52 rating to avoid exposure to heavy dust or water jets.
