Rackmount-SMB-Controller MITEL 50008381 — 8 GB RAM, 38 GB SSD

MITEL 50008381 is a rack-mount SMB controller designed for compact on-premise communications and system management. With 8GB of RAM and a 38GB SSD, the unit provides local processing and storage capacity for centralized device control, call processing and configuration tasks. The controller is intended for deployment in small and medium business environments where a space-efficient, rackable platform is required to host telephony or unified communications services.

Advantages

The controller combines a low-profile rack form factor with modest memory and solid-state storage to reduce physical footprint while supporting essential telephony and management workloads. Local processing reduces dependence on external cloud services for core call handling and configuration, and the SSD offers faster access and greater resilience compared with mechanical drives. The unit’s hardware balance aims to deliver predictable performance for typical SMB communication tasks.

Suitable for

• On-premise telephony servers for small and medium businesses
• Centralized device and endpoint management in a rack environment
• Edge deployment for unified communications gateways and call processing
• Environments requiring local control of voice services with compact hardware

Key specifications

• Form factor: rack-mount, low-profile
• Memory: 8 GB RAM
• Storage: 38 GB solid-state drive (SSD)
• Primary use: on-premise controller for communications and management tasks
• Target deployment: small to medium business server racks

How to use

Install the controller in a suitable rack bay and connect power, network and peripheral interfaces according to site requirements. Use the vendor-provided management interface or setup utility to configure network settings, register endpoints and apply call routing and system policies. Monitor resource usage and service logs through the controller’s administration console and integrate with existing infrastructure components such as switches, firewalls and external telephony trunks as needed.

Recommendations

Ensure the controller is located in a ventilated rack space with stable power and a UPS where possible. Keep firmware and management software up to date, and maintain regular backups of configuration and user data to external storage. For larger deployments or higher concurrency requirements, evaluate capacity and consider distributed or virtualized alternatives.
